Importance of a strong gluteus
A strong and firm glutes is not just a question of aesthetics, but also a question of health, especially when it comes to our posture.
A well-worked glute prevents numerous problems in everyday life, namely preventing pain and injuries, as well as improving balance and the execution of everyday movements, such as sitting, standing and squatting.
Articles published in scientific journals on sports medicine indicate that weak glutes are associated with lower back pain. Studies carried out by the University of Kent, in the United Kingdom, through Dr. Hilde Hurtham explain that any lower limb exercise that focuses on the glutes, such as sumo squats, lunges, lunges, and even abduction and stiff exercises, necessarily involves activation of the abdominal muscles, and this is entirely related to the prevention of lower back pain. When we work our glutes, we consequently activate our abdomen, which ends up significantly protecting our spine.
When it comes to the hip area, the gluteus, when weakened, will cause pain that can be quite severe in the hip area, as the gluteus acts as a stabilizer of the hip and pelvic area, which will compromise our ability to perform movements, such as abdominal strengthening work or walking, marching and running.
In this way, exercising your glutes with exercises such as sumo squats, pelvic lifts, chair abductors and moving lounges will not only help improve the appearance of your glutes by increasing their size and definition, but will also activate all the parts surrounding your glutes, with special emphasis on the gluteus maximus, that is, the upper part next to your lower back, so that you have better body posture.
