CORE?
Modern life leads the majority of the population to a sedentary lifestyle, as such leads to muscle weakness and decompensation leading to numerous pains, more specifically in the lumbar area.
What does it consist of?
The core is made up of all the musculature that surrounds our center of gravity (the region close to the belly button) such as the abs, the lumbar region, the pelvic area and the hip.
As such, the core region is responsible for sustaining and stabilizing virtually all of our body's movements. In this sense, it is essential that anyone has a well-strengthened and stabilized core so that its functionality is maintained and so that it can better develop its body and its physical qualities.
Personal Trainers shows you its functions and the benefits of having a well-strengthened core.
Functions:
• Maintain an adequate lumbar alignment against the action of gravity;
• Stabilize shoulder girdle, pelvic girdle and spine during movements;
• Generate strength for trunk movements;
• Transfer energy between the trunk and limbs.
Benefits:
• Facilitates the execution of body movements;
• Improves posture;
• Prevents injuries;
• Protects and facilitates the functioning of internal organs;
• Improvement of body composition, with lean mass developed using fat as a source of fuel;
• Increase in strength, balance and coordination of movements;
• Improves breathing;
• Prevents urinary incontinence;
• Contributes to athletic performance.
As you can see, having a well-strengthened core is very important for all your actions, both in your day-to-day and in your training, so start today to give it more importance and to challenge yourself with yourself, performing different exercises stepping out of your comfort zone.
